Fred Hadden wrote this, told me about the script, and we filmed about a week later. All of it was shot in one day except for Bob McMahon's part, which was done the day before since he wasn't available to stay after school the Wednesday the rest was filmed on. That's one of the problems with independent film, your actors have lives outside of acting, jobs, and often other commitments, so scheduling can be a pain.

Originally Will Kervick had a part in it, but that didn't work out and his part was taken by one of the Holmes Brothers, who I've never worked with before, along with Ben Shutman, all 3 were great to work with for the first time. Bob I have worked with before, just not under Macabre World Productions. So it's good to get him in something.

This was going to be released a week ago. I edited it except for having the video over the opening voiceover, the opening titles, and all the music. I got that done and finished it up earlier today (2/16/08). I think it was better to wait that week, because a week ago I wasn't sure what to do music-wise, and for the opening since we were going to shoot some scenes specifically for the opening monologue, but for whatever reason didn't, or just forgot.

You have to love it when an idea just comes out of everyday conversation. The original concept for this came from Me, Dan, Fred, and Brian talking in the parking lot outside of a pizza place.

Also: How often as a person do you get to here some of the following?
"There's a cactus in my ass!"
"Did I just hump a cactus? AHHH! I DID JUST HUMP A CACTUS! OW!"
"I will get my bare ass on camera sometime today" (he failed, every time he tried the camera was at too high an angle or a close up, resulting in it being out of the camera's view)
"You were straddling me way to hardcore there buddy"
"I raped you then you raped him, no. Scott raped you then I raped him, then Fred jumped on top of both of us, then Brian joined and was raping me"

And this is the first time that as a director I've said "You have to throw the cactus at his ass with a toss like this, don't pelt it, I don't want the cactus to rape him, just to make his raping uncomfortable"

Hopefully this is the start of doing regular, weekly releases again, it feels good to be back.

The Awkward Stripper

Finally! After 3 or 4 missed updates! The computer I used to upload from (as opposed to the one I edit and do everything else from) is dead! It's been dying a slow death, causing the missed updates because it wouldn't stay on and functional for long enough to put something up, I now have a new one.

Updates are back to normal, possibly going to 2 updates per week in the next month, I haven't quite decided. In the meantime...Stripping, just got awkward.

[square()ne]: Before the Studio: Part 1 and Part 2

First: a quick announcement, Starting soon, I will be switching from my current once a week update, to twice a week! That's going to start within the next month or so, after I get back from a couple of vacations to Dominican Republic, and Vermont. The delay is because I currently doubt that i'll even be able to do one update while i'm away, though possibly will be able to. There's no way I can (or if I can, no way i'm going to take the time to) do two updates while on vacation.

On to this...

On May 17th, 2009 Square One (or [square()ne] ) went into the studio (Retromedia Studios, in Red Bank, NJ) to record a demo. I went with them "to film our epic journey into the studio" - Dave B., the drummer.

Originally, I was going to upload this as just one video, but it was too big to upload to youtube (1.87gb) so I split it into two parts, because at first I tried compressing it and that made the video look bad. Others have told me that it still looks high quality, but I noticed all sorts of little things that happen when you compress a video, and they annoyed me.

I'll let them describe themselves: (from their myspace)
"Square One is a four piece melodic hardcore band from the shore of central jersey. With uplifting melodies and diverse technical writing but still remaining true to the roots of hardcore with breakdowns and 2 steps. 51709 was released (by pure coincidence) on May 17, 2009. It features the first four songs composed since nearly a year ago. The band has been formed since winter and its live practice sessions have only been present for about the beginning of spring. Currently looking to complete their lineup with a guitarist spot. The recordings off of 51709 ware done with only one guitar so it would help. Some of the members have only been playin their respected instrumets for half a year.
John Sorrentino- bass
Brian Amorim- lead vocals.
Dave Benning- drums, backup vocals
David Algalva- Lead guitarist.

Originally I was going to take the footage from this and do a full live dvd type thing of the show, but the original audio ended up sounding like crap. It was an outdoor show, and when something like that is outside the sound just disperses everywhere and ends up unbalanced/lousy. So I just ended up doing this one song, using their demo for audio, similar to what I previously did with footage from their show at The Stone Pony for their song Do It Again. Though unlike that one, I filmed this one, and with 4 cameras (and it wasn't handheld).

Overall, the only thing that I'd redo is the knife flying at the end, I tried to figure out a way to rig it to fly out, but that idea (and several quick modifications) failed. So I put that in in editing.

Wigger-ology 101: Becoming A Wigger

Fact: There are 66 jump cuts in this. This is only 2 minutes and 12 seconds long. That's a total of a jump cut every 2 seconds.

It took about 10 minutes to edit, but 2 days to get uploaded. I had to try to upload it 6 times, and it worked on the 7th, because people kept closing out the window, or youtube was being retarded ("under maintenance"). By the 3rd time, I was ready to put a hole in my family's computer's monitor (my computer is in my room with a wireless connection so it's not great for uploading large files).

The Haunted House: Fake Trailer

This was shot waaay back on the same day as Macabre World CSI (sort of way back...around January 14, 2008). I found the footage on my computer yesterday, which I had previously procrastinated on editing...I forget why...probably in favor of releasing other things.

I gave it an old school/grindhouse trailer feel, and I highly reccomend watching it in high quality because it's a very dark video (the darkness was on purpose...but it's so much clearer in high quality)

The Reel Life: Skateboard Fail

Along with what's in it, there was an additional segment of skateboarding off a roof (the building this was attempted on is in the background of the last segment). But it failed, that and other failures/bloopers coming soon (i have to check to see if I have enough for an entire reel, or if i have to wait for another episode to have more).

Originally the song in the background was going to be Superhuman by Goldfinger (you know, that song from Tony Hawk 2 that everyone used to restart the level until they got that song) but it's 3 min. 45 sec. long, and I didn't want to cut it off, so I went with I'm Cool by Reel Big Fish

Robogod Episode 1: Dumbassery

What is Robogod?
Basically whatever I/we want it to be. Sketches, Stunts, General Stupidity, and other Funny Stuff.

Filming for the first episode was started around November 17, 2008. I expected to be done the first episode for upload on December, 15, 2008. Then some people got grounded (freakin report cards), some other delays (mostly ADD/screwing around in general) and it kept getting pushed back until now.

Some explanations/stories about the segments:

The Boxer Fire: No, he wasn't in any way intoxicated, he was completely sober, and thought that that would be a good idea (it totally was). It was raining when that was shot, and the liquid is Tiki Torch Oil that he poured on his boxers.

The Aftermath (in the shower): He is wearing boxers, I only filmed above the waist though

The Aluminum Glove: Great idea, Scott (the guy being punched by it) got his hair singed by that.

Dave vs. Clay Pigeons: It was originally supposed to hit him in the stomach or chest...it kept missing, so we did it point blank...see his reaction for the result.

--the transition here: we found that banner...and that resulted, the other guy in it is Hal

Dave vs. Fire Hydrant: The Fire Hydrant defenitely won...it was supposed to hit him in the balls...but kept missing and we gave up after he got a good shot to the stomach. (not quite what we were going for...but still funny)

The Ice Bike: "Seemed like a great idea until I landed" - Dave. At the end of it he said "why weren't you filming?" because he didn't realize that I was at that point.

Entering the House (with the helmet/bugle): He actually entered the house like that. His mom's second reaction, after I had stopped the camera, "I think you're on crack!"

Hot Potato: Firecracker: That was a truly brilliant idea...

Hot Potato: Steel Wool: It really did burn like hell, and the sparks fly back at you after you throw it, making it worse. Proof that minor burns can be fun.

The Firecracker In The Pot: Seemed like a great idea, was a great idea, but didn't think that it would sink to the bottom, and the shockwave would hurt like hell (see Dan's reaction for how much it hurt)

King of the Hill On A Snowbank: That was in the parking lot of Target, the security people kept driving by/giving us dirty looks...but we weren't doing anything technically wrong, so they couldn't do anything.

Second Episode: The Destructathon, coming...dunno when, but it's at least halfway done.

Buildup, Moltovic, and The Atmosphere by Bass Message

This really is pure laziness on my part. I have 3 different things shot...but i need to edit them (i have an excuse on only one of them...the layer masking isn't cooperationg (digital special effects stuff)).

But this kind of makes sense...the main reason I didn't take the time to edit/get one of those up is because I was working with this stuff.

Over the past (almost) a week, I've been writing songs, mainly techno, in Sony Acid Pro. It's a lot of fun to work with, and right now, within less than a week, I have enough to put an entire album out. I'm releasing it all this week, putting up these three songs on a myspace page (www.myspace.com/thebassmessage) now, and the rest will go up throughout this week, i'm also about to make a Purevolume page, and if anyone knows any other good sites, then let me know.

Compensation Wars

I wrote this short a few weeks ago during the school day. That's multitasking right there.

The only production issue that this had was that I had to cut one bit (a quick back/forth set of lines...about 5 seconds) due to wind messing up the audio.

Robogod Trailer 2

I just got back from a trip to florida at about 2 A.M. this morning. So I chose this to put up for this week on the basis that it's the smallest file I have (though I will admit that it was very nice to have an upload done in about 30 seconds instead of up to 20 hours).

I like it much better than the first trailer, especially since the first one I cut after not very much was done, this is now with a lot done, though still not completed the first episode, the footage is actually a mix between the first and second episodes.

Just Screwin Around 4

With this one, the cycle of the Just Screwin Arounds getting shorter each time (1min 5sec, 1min 1sec, 57sec) Is broken, by the length doubling to 2min 7sec.

Plus, you can REALLY see the difference between my old camera and new camera since the first 3 or 4 bits were shot on my old camera.

Some of the bits are:
1st: during filming Hamlet, Prince of Procrastination Hayden got some cookies...and started doing that.

2nd: just after finishing filming Hamlet, that happened

3rd: also during Hamlet

4th: no comment...it's there

5th: the sheet tells you, it's also during filming Hamlet

6th/8th: I came up with that, and it was one of the most interesting things i've ever said as a director to an actor, something like "you need to slowly come out of the closet, broom in hand and bring it by his face, then go back in the closet when he sees you out of it, then in a seperate take hit him with the broom"

7th/9th: At the end of filming Macabre World CSI, they screwed up one of the last lines, and when I said that they need to redo that, hayden said "We're done!" and started dancing, "Fred Join me!"

10th:...happened

11th: Hayden did it, I responded, he responded, then filmed it with him and Nick.

12th: He found the paper...then it happened

13th: He was supposed to come out with a broom, found the hockey stick, did that

14th: Reference/continuation of something in Just Screwin Around 3

15th (ending): It happened...greatest ending ever?

Macabre World CSI: Crime Scene Investigation

Fun Fact: The script for this, was written as a draft text message, during History class, a few months ago.

This is the first short that was shot on my new camera (JVC Everio HD10), and first edited on my new editing software (I'm now using Sony Vegas Studio Platinum 9 because Adobe Premiere 3 can't do the HD files)...and it's also the first to use the new tripod i got...but that's not really that relevant.

The first bit of it was shot a few months ago, on the same day as Snakes Don't Swim, Brian's New Job 2: Brian's Newer Job, and No Offense, but it wasn't finished due to time restrictions. So I just decided to re-shoot the whole thing to avoid problems with continuity in lighting/outfit changes (not to mention that that was shot on my old camera, this was shot with my new, better camera).

This is the third thing that was shot on the same day as Hamlet, Prince of Procrastination (the second is the outtakes/bloopers), and no it's not actually coming this summer, it's just a fake trailer.

The voice, Nick kept doing at random points in between takes on Hamlet, the character Big Hands Johnson was steadily created by Nick, I put together most of the things he had done throught the night into an idea for a fake trailer, and Hayden did the narrator's voiceover (which is the only part that i would change if I could...not that he did a bad job with it, just that it came out overly loud and got a bit distorted at parts).

Hamlet, Prince of Procrastination Outtakes and Bloopers

As I said with the original short (here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HCL49m_bgPI) it took about 6-7 hours to film.

With that, of course there are a lot of outtakes, bloopers, etc. I screwed up my lines A LOT of times...despite being the one who wrote them. This is actually the first thing i've appeared on camera in since Inner Office Violence/Inner Office Violence: The Aftermath (i don't count things like Just Screwin Around 3, the Robogod preview trailer, and the DDR Intervention Commentary because it isn't pre-written for the first and I'm not physically on camera, only heard in the second two).

This took about 6-7 hours to film! That's gotta be some kind of record for a short that's only about 11 minutes long. The main reason for that though is getting sidetracked...A LOT. But along with this is also a 3 minute outtake/blooper reel (coming next week) and a fake trailer.

I came up with the idea for this a while ago, but of course had to wait until Christmas time to do it, because I wanted the Christmas tree in the background (and doing it at this time of year just makes sense).

I give this the vote for most likely short to come back to haunt me in a job interview in 10 years. But if it does...i'll deal with that then.

This was filmed on the same day as Snakes Don't Swim and Brians New Job 2: Brian's newer job. Someone (i forget who) told a story about what he yelled out in social studies (which happened to be an offensive joke) and the idea kind of budded from there. To get some jokes when nobody could think of any more, I googled racist jokes...some very "interesting" sites came up. Who knew how many white supremacist sites there are? (kind of scary if you think about it).

Flashback 3: A Day In The Life: The Stoner (opening title sequence)

Finally! I'm doing another flashback! It's been what? A month or 2 since I did the second one? So this ends up being more whenever I feel like it (and whenever I remember) as opposed to every thursday like I was originally going to do.

The series this was supposed to be for, never happened. It was going to be a stoner comedy series, I wrote the first episode's script, and did all the casting, but due to problems with shooting locations, and timing it just never worked out. Some of the material which was going into this is now being used in Robogod (first episode of that within the next 2 weeks, trailer here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zgk7s5MAwMM)

The animation in this is done deliberately poorly, and it was going to be a live action series, but with the opening title sequence animated. I just threw it together in about half an hour when I made it.

Something I've noticed with doing the flashbacks, I really wouldn't want my abilities/skills to be judged by my really early work...but whatever.

Robogod Preview Trailer

What is Robogod?
The series with a ridiculous amount of taglines (most of which don't make sense)
A series of sketches, stunts, possibly some stand up, and other funny bits
The strangest series Ever!

That's pretty much the description of the series as a whole...the second one makes the most sense.

Snakes Don't Swim

With this, I have broken my record for the highest budgeted thing I've done, all the equipment (guns, cammo, etc.) used in this brings the budget to aproximately $800.

I have come to the conclusion that higher budget=more issues. Because this had a rediculous amount of problems...

1. Had to reschedule shooting...2 or 3 times (you know you're an independant filmmaker when you have to reschedule a shoot because your actors have to be at their real jobs)

2. The massive amount of footage (about 1gb worth, more than i've had on anything else) caused my editing software to crash, multiple time (good news is i have it set to save every 5 minutes automatically).

3. Certain actors having an issue with it not being comedic (gotta do a little of everything, versatility as a filmmaker counts for something!)

4. The sun was setting at the end, making the last few shots almost too dark to comprehend (and that's after brightening it up in editing).

5. This is a fun fact/issue, I wrote the script on my cellphone, during history class, and didn't think to put it on my computer and make copies of it, so everything was done off that.

But all in all I think it turned out well, and retained most of my original vision...except a few shots which I thought of...but i'd need a really tall ladder, a crane, or a helicopter to get them...not exactly something I can do at this point.

Brian's New Job 2: Brian's Newer Job

Last monday (November 17, 2008) I got 3 new shorts shot in a single day...editing is still in progress on one of them (Snakes Don't Swim). Snakes Don't Swim got filmed (and is looking good, but more on that in a week or two when I release that), along with this, and a new short called No Offense (or No Offense Intended...the title is still debatable between those two).

Do It Again by Ignition Music Video

Firstly, I take no responsibility for the video quality or direction. One of the band member's (the drummer, Alex) dad took the footage. Of course, he films like a parent. He's not using a tripod, focusing on certain band members at certain parts, or making sure the camera stays as steady as possible. He's focusing on "that's my kid and her friends!" filming everything and encouraging them, telling them what a great job they're doing.

So I think that I cut around most of the problems created by this, but it still is a bit shaky. But pay more attention to the song.

I plan to shoot an actual music video as opposed to cutting together live footage for another of their songs Down With The Ship.

5 Second Shorts Part 2

Second week of this, and I think that I may do this for future shorts (doing it a while after the full short has been released of course) because I do enjoy these. I would actually do something else in between part one and part two of the 5 second short releases, but I don't have anything that I want to put up instead. I'm doing this total of 8 videos, in 2 parts because one 5 second video per week for the next 8 weeks (or periodically) would be an extent of filler which I am just not comfortable with. Flashbacks 1: Dead Brother?

Okay, first let me explain the flashbacks thing, as an extra thing, along with my weekly monday update with a new video, I'm going to be doing a write up like this for an older video, on thursdays, starting from oldest up until I reach DDR Intervention which is where I started doing something new every week.

So for this one I'm going waaay back (April 9, 2007)...the first thing that I have on youtube...that's still there. I actually had a whole series of at least 15 videos before that...but I deleted them a while ago because I rewatched some of them and didn't really like them/didn't want my work/abilities to be judged by them. Come to think of it...I don't want my work and abilities judged by this one either but I like it enough to leave it up.

There are no edits in this...none at all, that's why there's a big pause in the middle, because I just ran around that shed/put another shirt on over the one I had. So when I rewatched it, as I will everything I do a flashback for, I actually found myself skipping over the section in the middle when nothing is happening.

Just Screwin Around 3

I know, I know, i'm late, this was supposed to be here on monday...but HEY! BACK OFF! IT WAS ON YOUTUBE! I JUST DIDN'T HAVE TIME TO WRITE UP SOMETHING ABOUT IT!

Now that i'm done with that...
My family's computer got a virus and I had to reformat it, so I didn't have time to write something up, just to upload it. And let it be noted: this is why I have my own computer, and don't only rely on my family's. Mine has a wireless internet connection which goes through several walls and so doesn't always work.

Yes this one is very short (they seem to go down in length from 1 to 3, going down by a few seconds each time) the fourth will be longer (We will screw around MORE!) I didn't have something for this week, so instead of using the ultimate filler (Epic Fail Battle!, coming whenever i have nothing else) i threw this together using what I had so far, it ended up being long enough, but being forced all the same.

HyperSquirrel 2: The Warnings

The original video predates uploading something every week, view it here it was made back in mid November 2007 and the main thing I remember about the filming of that one is that I couldn't find my camera, borrowed my younger brother's, and his batteries died every few minutes so we went through about 7 pairs. Oh...and it was also filmed on the same day as Freaky Matrix Powers: Revolutions...oh and the original HyperSquirrel also had a great making of. But anyway...on to this one.

The idea for this one has been there for a while...it was to introduce HyperSquirrel BLEEDING EYEBALLS EDITION! SO MUCH CAFFEINE YOUR EYES WILL BLEED! But then that was tossed out and it was turned into a series of funny disclaimers.

I like the way the 2 body dissapearing green screen gags worked out...even though they still are a little glitchy.

Guess what? you are all getting something very special (sort of), you're all getting a (sort of) exclusive look at my new short film/english project Beowulf, Buyer of Burgers, a modern re- imagining of the Beowulf story.

I'm pretty sure that this took longer to film than anything else I've done. I blame the higher than usual amount of people I had. A few weren't availible, so some replacements were called in, then found out that the people were availible and just didn't know where we were shooting...so there were about 8 people which made things a bit more complicated

Superfred Teaser Trailer

Here it is, some sign that we're doing Something towards Superfred....we're probably going to actually start writing it in 2 days (thank the Jews for 2 days off of school!). So we are getting something done.
I'm thinking about 10 episodes maybe, but will have to wait and see what we write and where it leads us. They'll all focus around a central plot, though also have their own villain and challenge so they can be watched standalone, but are better in order.

Epic Stick Fight!

Playing With Fireworks

This I did while on vacation in Vermont with my cousin Bobby, and a lot of bottle rockets. This is also the first example of two videos (so far) using revolutionary technology I developed which I call DGE (Dumbass Generated Effects) ie. puttin a bottle rocket in my mouth AND SETTING IT OFF!...plus a small, unintentional Dane Cook Reference, the firework in my pocket (see bit: "Are You Out Of Your F***ing Mind!?). The next example comes next week (and it's incredibly funny) S Fire (which will be retitled, but i'm not saying it because that'd give away what it is)

You know when you walk in on the wrong part of a conversation? Like you walk up to a few of your friends talking and the first thing you hear is "Beat her to death with a loaf of bread" (true story, that actually happened to me). That is what this is based on, hence the tagline: "When you only hear half the conversation" (and side note: it's spelled wrong on the poster...i just realized that a few days ago...it's spelled here on there)

This is the first full animated short I've done from start to finish. The Devil's Tree doesn't count since there's no dialogue, only voice over narration...plus there was no script, it was just me improvising, I was bored one night and that was the result. This actually had a script, dialogue, and someone besides me also did voices (Hayden did some of the voices, and I did some).

Plus, for once something that I wrote in the middle of the night (and in about 7 minutes too) turned out well.

Oh and I'm going to leave you with this thought...the part at 25 seconds in is indeed a true story, as is a lot of the other parts...no names will be given out to protect the innocent (or the general lack thereof).

Inner Office Violence: The Aftermath

Fact: Everyone loves watching stuff get smashed to hell. So...give the people what they want.

After we were done filming Inner Office Violence we had some fun smashing the 2 computers, monitor, printer, and other stuff that we used in the filming. Hayden suggested "that song that goes like Boom here comes the Boom" I tried out and it was a great idea, the only way it could be better is if i spent more time syncing it with the music (the song's actual title/artist is Boom by P.O.D.).

Inner Office Violence

This is the highest budgeted Macabre World Productions film/highest budgeted thing I have ever been involved in at about $600 (watch it an you should see why...computer equipment to destroy).

Also, it's the most problematic short yet.
First: Nobody showed up for the freakin shoot! (except Hayden)
Second: The Script had to be changed to fit the people we had ie. Fred was supposed to be the part I played and Francis was going to have a small part as a custodian (who delivered some great one liners in the original script) but both of them turned out to not have rides at the last minute.
Third: With me having to take the role of the Boss (his name was Ren in the script...but it's never said in the movie itself) I had to use my little brother for the camera...he managed to make it shaky at parts even with a tripod (see Assassin's R Us for example of him holding a camera by hand)

But despite the problems it went through, it still retains most of my original vision for it (vision as of when I was writing the script...not when the idea first came because it was originally concieved just to use the breakaway chair...) Plus it was a lot of fun to make...everyone loves smashing computer equipment/wanton destruction in general...more of that next week in Inner Office Violence: The Aftermath

oh ya...and a side benefit of this is that Assassin's R Us is now going to be a trilogy...one of the plot ideas for this turned into an idea for a third Assassin's R Us after me rejecting it for this Assassin's R Us 3: The Coorporation (but that wil come after Assassin's R Us 2: The Assassin's Creed).

If you don't already know...then the lack of an update last week was because I was on vacation in vermont...I filmed something there Playing With Fireworks, and wrote Inner Office Violence on the trip back (that's what I accomplished...what've you all done while i've been gone?)

We filmed Inner Office Violence today, despite a ton of setbacks...but I'll talk about those in 2 weeks when I release that (i need to start editing). Checked Out is going to be released next week.

A short film based off a pun and done on the fly

That's pretty much the description of this...since I can't think of a way to give a plot synopsis without instantly giving away the punchline. Filmed shortly after Gay vs. Straight and amidst a bunch of different things for the sequel to Just Screwin Around, Just Screwin Around 2 (coming in 2 weeks).

You may say "that was terrible" but you know you laughed...so give it a high rating and send it to other people. Just don't give away the punchline before they watch it...and of course get them to subscribe to me.

We've been waiting a while for Fred to not be grounded to film this one. He came up with the idea therefore we weren't going to do it without him.

Think about the question this asks...it's quite philosophical actually. So after you watch it go find a gay guy and ask him whether or not they do make fun of straights...and comment on the video with the answer (i want to know...seriously).

And by the way...this marks the end of the filler as I've finally got stuff filmed. This we filmed over 5 months ago...around January (tough i'm not sure about that...i think the created date on my computer might be messed up and so that be wrong) , along with footage for Freaky Animatrix Powers, and som of which ended up in Just Screwin Around.

The music is the intro to Goin Out Swingin by Motley Crue (off their new album). I would've put the whole song but this is all the footage I have....so there's not really much of a way to stretch that out...

Yes I know...this is the third short thing in a row...after I Have Aids Soda Can Expodes In Fire
and now this. I'll have more things soon...which are longer and more complex...Checked Out is done animation though the only thing(s) fully done and rendered is the opening and closing credits.

I Have AIDs

So I have an epic story for you all...

It was about 4:00 PM on Sunday June 15, 2008. Tom Knight suddenly came to the realization that after sunday...comes monday...and he has nothing to release for the next day. He thought "Oh crap...I have to get something done before tomorrow...I can't miss a week!" and so the next day after school I Have AIDs was filmed! He then realized that he was refering to himself in the third person...and should probably stop. THE END

So ya...that's my epic tale surrounding this weeks video...forgetting the day of the week and so rushing to get SOMETHING done...I'll get more done soon.

The description I put on youtube really describes just what this it...The Outtakes of Life. This is random footage from days we were just hanging out, during the making of Stick Fight, the making of Freaky Animatrix Powers, Captain Planet, and Swingin (to be released soon...probably next week).

It was originally actually titled Just Screwin Around: The Outtakes of Life...but I like it better shortened. Everything in this is actual footage...none of it planned, a few of them re-enactments (the first one, the SH** a brick one, and the smokin rocks one were re-enacted about a minute after it actually happened)

So it is indeed very random. Coming soon is a similar (but more planned) animated thing currently titled Checked Out...the big differences are that that one is a lot more

I Can Fly!

This is just a short special effects test for the Wonderboy by Tenacious D music video

The video came out a bit screwy because I didn't light the green screen properly since I was just doing it quickly. But it shows that the concept works...meaning that I WILL be able to make a guy twice my weight fly!

And also we will be doing more music videos, besides Karate (already done) and Wonderboy...and no not all of them will be off Tenacious D songs.

Also, I now have a Breakaway Chair (if you don't know, a breakaway anything is something designed to break in a certain way when hit ie. a breakaway bat will break in half when you hit someone with it...but it won't hurt the person being hit) and we're going to be doing a short called Inner Office Violence with that

Karate by Tenacious D music video

Let me tell you, this one was WAAAYYY more complicated than it looks.
Complications:
1) Getting yelled at for filming at that motel (we were with Victor, who's family owns it, and yet his mom still yelled at us?)
2) Getting 2 of the people in it (john and victor) to stay outside for filming and not go inside to play video games
3) EDITING! Worst thing ever, getting the actual singing to sync up with the song was near impossible (i still think it's slightly off).

But that stuff aside this is a great (and very short) song "You broke the rules, now I pull out all your pubic hair" is a great line...ONLY Jack Black could do this!

Oh and by the way, if you listen until the very end you'll hear something that you can't tell what it is...if you play it backwards (it's in like the last 3 seconds or so) it says "Donkey Crap"

So in short...this may seem like a very small project (and a very small entry compared to my last 2 Freaky Animatrix Powers and the PSA which were massively long) but it was actually mad complicated.

Macabre World Productions PSA: About Our Insults

Well there isn't really much to say about this, it pretty much speaks for itself.
This was filmed in what an abandoned structure that we found while wandering around in the woods, we filmed it and then proceeded to wander around in the woods for no particular reason, spending an hour or two getting lost and then finding our way out.

So since I don't have much to say about this, I'm going to talk about some future projects, tell a little about what I/we have planned. I got bored in algebra (big surprise there) and made a list of it all, but lost it so I'm going to try to do this without my list.

Karate (by Tenacious D) Music Video
-Filmed last friday (May 16, 2008), I'm going to start (and probably finish) editing later today, to be released next monday.
Wonderboy (by Tenacious D) Music Video
-Filming/Release date TBA, already has an official music video but I don't really like it, and didn't know that it has one when I first came up with the idea for it. I pictured Wonderboy as more of a superhero (and the other guy as the bad guy) as opposed to an adventurer like in the official video. Plus you know you all want to see a fat man flying! Currently Untitled Gunslinger
-Filming/Release date TBA, a gunslinger/action short. Most of the plot details are still undetermined except for the ending (and i'm not telling what that is :)
Freaky Matrix Powers: Reborn
-A currently hypothetical break off from the continuity to the movies. Only going to be done if we have a new, really good location where we can do great new things.
Assassin's R Us 2: The Assassin's Creed
-More plot than the first, much better camera work (i will never let my little brother hold the camera again) and more people involved. Here's the Original
Guitar Hero: The Movie (fake trailer)
-Originally this was going to be a full movie (or short film rather) but I think it'd turn out very similar to DDR Intervention. So It's now going to be a fake trailer, or two. Still could possibly turn back into a movie though.
Super Fred (trailers/movie)
-This is probably going to be a movie, but I want to do a few trailers for it first as opposed to going straight into writing/filming a movie (or again, Short Film).
The Cult
-Possibly a short film, possibly a trailer, not really sure where this one's going. Plot: a cult tries to recruit a supergamer into their ranks...but he's too busy playing video games.
The Family Tree of Obama
-All I'm going to say is that I have to photoshop a picture of Barack Obama in 25 different ways, and animate a full body shot of him. That's about all the details I can give without giving away the punchline.

-The title kind of gives you all the plot details that there are at this point.

-I can guarantee you all this will be offensive

-Animated horror short like The Devil's Tree. But this one actually has a script.

-Very short thing, a test for the Wonderboy by Tenacious D music video, to perfect a certain special effect needed for the music video.

Freaky Animatrix Powers

And with this so ends the Freaky Matrix Powers series (probably...could do another if I wanted to but I feel it's complete unless I find a really good location where we can do new, great things).

This being the final, i'd like to go over how the series has progressed...

It started with me testing out the slow motion/reverse footage functions when I first got Adobe Premiere Elements Pro sometime last September (because Windows Movie Maker SUCKS!). I thought it looked cool and was trying to think of how I could use it for something. Well about a month later I did and the first: Freaky Matrix Powers was made and uploaded on October 18, 2007.

The first got some positive response and so 5 days later (October 23, 2007) the sequel was made Freaky Matrix Powers: Reloaded, which was not as good as the first but still decent

Then a bit of a gap of time between that and the third

---I'd like to bridge that big gap of time by noting the connection of these to the Matrix movies (besides titles)---
-First one, good overall, but kind of leaves you wanting more
-Second one "Reloaded", decent overall though not as good as the first, and the ending sucked (in the movie: to be continued ending...nobody likes those)
-Third one "Revolutions", amazing, mind blowing (though apparently i'm kind of alone in thinking this of the third one in the actual movie series and i don't think the movie blew the first away)
-Animatrix...i'll adress this one later in this post

I wanted to do one more, but there are no more Matrix movies, unless you count the Animatrix which had nothing really to do with the live action movies other than the occasional reference. So I came up with the idea to do this and give the live action footage a bit of an animated feel using different filters.

How the animation thing was done: Find Outlines filter put on all the video, invert colors, then blend with original a certain amount (usually somewhere 60-65%).

POINTLESS FUN FACT: This my second entry in a row which involves and exclamation point in the title...

I'd like to thank* Robot Chicken for this short. The asterix is because I'm not really sure what I'm doing there. Hayden came up with the idea and said "I got the idea from Robot Chicken" so I'm not sure whether thank, this was inspired by, or this was ripped off of should go in there.

That aside...this took literally a minute to film (it would've taken much less if I didn't stop flinching at the ball kicking thing...even though Hayden was doing it very slowly). I had to brighten up certain parts because there was a noticable difference in the lighting due to time in between takes and the fact that the sun was setting at the time...I think there's still a bit of difference.

Oh and if you think the second outtake (at the end of it) looks fake...that's because it is...Fred was trying it and deliberately "fell"

Stick Fight!

All I really have to say about this one is: 4 Guys, 1 camera, improvision (though somehow i'll manage to make it into a full post).

So we were filming Freaky Animatrix Powers (which IS animated...sort of...i'll explain it probably in 2 weeks when I upload it) and Hayden picks up a stick and starts swinging it at francis, I said "Hey, why don't we make a short off of that concept" so we did. I had him redo the swinging the stick at francis and there the opening shot was born. From there we just kind of ran with it, the only debate was the ending...and I think that the one we ended up doing was much better than the original idea (the original idea had to do with one running down a hill into the other's stick).

This is my first non film update (the 3rd week since i started this). This is why I said every other week, because I can't always do one a week. However, it's spring break so I'm gonna try to get several new projects filmed and then start editing them all, then of course release them week by week (or every other week if I feel like doing that)

Of course this had to have an outtakes/deleted scenes thing since we had a lot of them (like I said, a majority of it ended up being improvised). Plus I had to do it because other making of/outtake reels I've done have been great, my favorite being the one for Freaky Matrix Powers: Revolutions (The Making of: Freaky Matrix Powers: Revolutions) and if you want a reason to watch it (besides I told you so) then watch it because it has the footage of me tripping and falling while trying to jump off the deck and falling about 6 ft down face first (if you don't laugh at that...you aren't normal). Then there's also The Making of Hypersquirrel (and the original video itself) Yes, I like pimping my previous videos and my youtube account in general. DDR Intervention

Here I am, first entry, new site, new thing...hopefully this will go better than my last attempt at creating a regular blog (movie review blog...did about 3 entries then stopped).

But anyway, about this film. Originally this was going to be made for the 2008 OTHS Film Festival. But in the end it ended up at 9 minutes including credits, so goodbye to that. I attended it last year and most of them were about 1-2 minutes, the longest was probably 3 and 1/2 minutes. So just to youtube this one goes.

So more about the film itself, Sometime earlier in the school year (I forget when exactly...months ago) my friend Fred Hadden came up with the idea for a movie called DDR Intervention about a guy getting addicted to DDR and the resulting intervention. I wrote it, gave it to him, he made the revisions that he thought should be made to my script (not too many of those) and it was done. Then we ended up deciding to make it for the school's film festival (he was betting on us not getting it done though). Technically we did get it done, though as I previously stated, I didn't submit it due to length. But besides that the filming was great (after school on monday April 7, 2008) a lot of fun, and tons of outtakes (THE FROWN TO END ALL FROWNS!). I'll release an outtakes reel sometime soon (probably for next week).

Oh, and it should be noted that most of the script was thrown out, though not for it being bad. The delivery scene, the him progressively getting better scenes, bits of the intervention, and the "I got this new game" scenes were all that was kept (actually...if we'd stuck to the script then it'd probably be much shorter...oh well). The rest of it besides these bits was improvising.
